Installing Exchange 2010 SP3 Rollups on Server 2012

I was installing a new DAG for a customer running Exchange 2010 SP3 on Server 2012.

The time came to update to the same Rollup level as the other servers, so downloaded the file, hit apply then uh-oh error.

After a bit of investigation here’s the fix.

1. Download the rollup from Microsoft.
2. Open an elevated command prompt.
3. Navigate to the directory of the download directory.
4. Use the command “msiexec /update {filename.msp}
5. Go through the update successfully (you may need to stop a couple of services manually)
